DON’T LET FASHION GO TO WASTE

Our 3rd FLY event of the 2017 season, Don't Let Fashion go to Waste, was an evening dedicated to celebrating and discussing sustainable fashion. The event was highlighted by narratives on sustainability in the fashion industry given by local professionals, professors, and students. FUA student Maria Colalancia discussed artisanal production while she introduced the Luloloko Mays Atelier project. The second narrative was given by the current emerging designer, Giuliana Becattini, regarding her local slow fashion brand, Begiuls. Colalancia then spoke again about tips on how to make your closet more eco-friendly. The final talk of the night, focused around mindful luxury and vintage reuse, was given by Canadian fashion designer, Michons Marigot. The speeches were accompanied by organic wines and delicious desert tastings. FUA student creations were a main attraction of the night, with students giving a demonstration of straw accessory making. The special exhibition of the evening featured the first-year capsule collection of our FUA fashion student, Alessandra Moretti.
